Many companies not only encourage employees to donate to nonprofits, but also have matching programs that will help you make an even greater impact.
An “employee matching gift” is a donation an employer makes to match your contribution to AdoptAClassroom.org. Usually this is a dollar-for-dollar match, meaning they will give the same amount that you gave. However, some employers will triple or quadruple your gift! The guidelines are dependent on your employer.
It only takes a few steps to find out if you’re eligible.
1. Search for your employer to determine your eligibility.
2. If your employer matches donations to nonprofits, your gift to AdoptAClassroom.org can be matched!
AdoptAClassroom.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has served teachers nationwide for over twenty years. In early 2019 we introduced our School Program for donors interested in making an impact at the school-wide level.

4. Contact your employer to match your donation.
If you’re not sure who to ask, your human resources representative will probably be able to provide you with the next steps on matching your gift. Make sure you have your donation receipt on hand. If you decided to support a specific teacher or school, make sure to note those details. Usually you can note this in a field called “designation” or “notes.” Doing so will ensure your donation will reach your teacher or school as quickly as possible.
