What is a donor-advised fund?
Giving through a donor-advised fund is a great way to support teachers in your community or across the country.
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is like a flexible charitable investment account. Funds deposited into this account are immediately eligible as a tax-deductible donation. Later, you can recommend grants to organizations with missions that speak to you. DAFs are increasingly popular with many people as they allow you to make mindful giving decisions. You can spend some time thinking about how you want to give, but your contribution is still immediately tax-deductible. According to NPTrust’s 2020 DAF report, DAF contributions have increased 80% since 2015.
