Twitter Chat: K-12 Distance Learning Idea Exchange

This giveaway has concluded. Visit our Teacher Funding Opportunities page to learn more about current and upcoming educator funding opportunities from AdoptAClassroom.org.

We have always asked a lot from our nation’s K-12 teachers. Now, during these highly unusual times, the demands on our educators have grown even greater. AdoptAClassrsoom.org would like to help. This Thursday, we want to bring together our educator community for a Twitter idea exchange on distance learning. Our intent is to provide a live forum for our teachers to share ideas and learn from one another as to what is working and what is not.

If you are a K-12 teacher, administrator or education professional with experience in remote teaching, please join our #DistanceLearningChat to discuss your needs, resources, and solutions for distance learning. The live #DistanceLearningChat Twitter event will take place on Thursday, March 26th, 2020 from 6pm – 8pm CT.

Participating teachers, who follow @Adopt_Classroom on Twitter, are eligible to enter to receive one of five $100 donations on AdoptAClassroom.org (teachers have 12 months to use their donation to purchase classroom supplies.).

$500 Distance Learning Twitter Giveaway: #DistanceLearningChat

To enter, use our hashtag “#DistanceLearningChat” during the Twitter event to ask a question or answer another teacher’s question on the topic of distance learning. The more you use the hashtag to ask or answer questions, the more chances you’ll have to win.

Don’t have a Twitter account?

We’ll also pose a #DistanceLearningChat question on Facebook and Instagram at 9am CT on Thursday, March 26th. Answer or ask a question on Facebook and/or Instagram about distance learning for an additional entry in our giveaway before the chat ends at 8pm CT.

Teachers Need Community Now More Than Ever

With school closures across the country, teachers have had to re-evaluate and rapidly change their lesson plans and teaching strategies to connect with and continue teaching their students remotely. This is a massive adjustment that many teachers haven’t experienced before, but there’s a community of teachers who want to help each other get through this difficult time together.

Through the #DistanceLearningChat Twitter Event, we hope to connect teachers across the country who can share tips and resources on distance learning during this transition period. We’ll keep our blog updated with resources for teachers, so check back in after the Twitter event for even more tips.
