Subaru Loves Learning is here, and their commitment to education with AdoptAClassroom.org® is about to reach a major milestone. By the end of 2026, Subaru and its retailers will have helped more than one million students access essential school supplies with AdoptAClassroom.org since 2021.
As part of their award-winning Subaru Loves Learning initiative, more than 630 Subaru retailers nationwide will adopt high-needs schools in their communities this back-to-school season.

Subaru Makes a Difference in Classrooms
For Allyson, a sixth grade teacher in California, Subaru’s support has been integral in keeping her students focused on learning. While she gets a budget from her school for essential classroom supplies, consumables like pencils and paper run out quickly.
In the past, Allyson used her own money to ensure her students have what they need to succeed – and she’s not alone. Ninety-seven percent of teachers surveyed said their classroom budget isn’t enough to fully cover the supplies they need.

Thanks to the generosity of Subaru, Allyson’s classroom is now stocked with sturdy and useful supplies that she didn’t have to buy with her own money. Fun bear-themed pencils help her students stay on task, instead of making constant trips to the pencil sharpener. The variety of small fidgets and puzzle toys Allyson purchased enables her students to “take a break” from academics, while still developing their problem-solving skills.
Ninety-five percent of teachers said students were able to access learning materials that they wouldn’t have had without the support of Subaru’s donation.
Allyson’s personal favorite among the new supplies she bought with her Subaru donation is the simple protractor. For many of her students struggling with geometry, the old-school hands-on tool was exactly what they needed to help abstract concepts click.
In fact, the protractors were so popular that students gleefully received one as a holiday gift. As Allyson jokes, “Thank you, Subaru, you got my kids really interested in protractors.”
Allyson isn’t the only teacher seeing an increase in student engagement thanks to a donation from their local Subaru retailer. A 2026 AdoptAClassroom.org survey found that 85% of students in classrooms adopted by Subaru were more engaged in their learning because of the support.

Students also notice the impact Subaru’s donation has on their classroom. Matteo, a sixth grade student, says he doesn’t have to lend his pencils to classmates as often. Instead, he can save them for the art projects his class enjoys together.
“I would like to give Subaru a big thank you for helping my classroom and other schools. Because with the money that the teachers get, they can buy school supplies for students to use for projects and get better learning experiences.”
– Matteo
Since 2021, Subaru’s support has helped more than one million young scholars like Matteo, in 37,000+ classrooms, access the supplies they need to thrive in school.
In addition to the Subaru Loves Learning initiative, Subaru also supports teachers through their VIP Educator discount. Learn more on their website.
A special thank you to the Subaru retailers who adopted an entire school in their community for the 2026-2027 school year.
