2020 created new challenges for educators in the spring, and the back-to-school season is looking to be just as difficult. Our 2020 Teacher Spending Survey revealed that teacher spending is on the rise again. Teachers are spending an average of $745 during the year on school supplies.
We’re offering a match on Tuesday, 8/11/2020, to help teachers and schools get the funding they need to stay safe when school begins.
When you give on 8/11/2020, your donations up to $50* to teacher or school pages will be matched by AdoptAClassroom.org!
Matching begins at 10 AM CST on Tuesday, 8/11/2020. Don’t wait, because we can only match 100 teachers or schools. Search for a classroom to adopt.
Match Details:
*Matching begins at 10 AM CST on Tuesday, 8/11/2020 and ends when we hit our goal of 100 classrooms and/or schools funded. Donors will be notified via email by 6pm CST on 8/11/2020 if their donation earned a match. We will update this page the moment the match runs out. Donations must be processed on 8/11/2020 as part of the first 100 school or teacher donations. Mailed checks and pledges are not eligible for a match. Matching donations will be disbursed within a week to your AdoptAClassroom.org account.
In case of monthly donations, AdoptAClassroom.org will match the first donation on 8/11/2020 with $50, but not the following monthly gifts.
To help as many students as possible:
- Unique donations will be matched up to a maximum of $50
- If an individual makes 1+ donation(s) to different teachers/schools, all donations will be matched
- If an individual makes 1+ donation(s) to the same teacher/school, only one donation will be matched
- If a teacher/school receives 1+ donation(s) from different donors, all donations will be matched
- If a teacher/school donates to their own page, the donation is not eligible for a match

Many of my students are from underserved communities and will likely start the school year with little to no school supplies. This is especially problematic during a pandemic, because my students can’t share school supplies, and they will each need their own materials. I can’t provide a classroom of 30 students with learning materials on my own.
