AdoptAClassroom.org Launches School Program

We’re excited to announce that we have officially launched our new School Program. K-12 principals and administrators, who are authorized by their school district to use our fundraising platform, can now utilize AdoptAClassroom.org to support larger, school-wide initiatives.

Our School Program was created in direct response to increased budget cuts and growing school needs. To help fill the gap, individual donors and our corporate partners told us that they wanted the ability to contribute to school-wide initiatives to benefit all students in a school, in addition to supporting individual classrooms.

AdoptAClassroom.org believes that principals and teachers are professionals who know best what their schools and classrooms need. Therefore, the program allows the use of funds to be  flexible and spent at the discretion of school administrators, based on real-time needs. The registration process for schools is very similar to that for teachers, which has been designed to be quick and easy to use for busy professionals.

AdoptAClassroom.org has partnered with school districts for many years, deferring to their leadership to identify the schools in their community most in need of support. New York City Department of Education played an instrumental role when three of their public schools schools, P.S. 111, P.S. 34, and Renaissance School of Arts, MS 377, each received a $10,000 donation to purchase school supplies for their classrooms and students.

“We worked closely with AdoptAClassroom.org to find schools that would benefit most from this program. AdoptAClassroom.org was a trusted partner, committed to carefully considering where their funds would do the most good for our students,” said Mariano Guzmán, senior advisor, Office of the Chancellor, NYC Department of Education. “We thank AdoptAClassroom.org for their invaluable support of our schools and students.”
