Vanessa Hudgens’ Big Surprise

AdoptAClassroom.org teamed up with Kohl’s and Vanessa Hudgens to give teachers and students in Los Angeles a BIG surprise during their first week of school.

Actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens tells students they are getting free Nike sneakers in LA, California on August 17, 2016

Actress Vanessa Hudgens announced to more than 1,700 students at The Accelerated Schools in L.A. that they would each receive a pair of brand new Nike sneakers.

But the students weren’t the only ones to be smile big that day. Hudgens continued with the announcement that each of the 80 plus teachers at The Accelerated Schools would receive a $600 AdoptAClassroom.org gift to spend on school supplies. $600 is the amount an average teacher spends each year to equip their classrooms and students.

Hudgens closed her presentation with some advice with the students. “I wish that I was more patient in school, she said. “I think that when you’re learning something in school it’s frustrating and it’s challenging and it’s easy to give up. But if you are patient and stick it through and put in the work, you’ll end up so much better than you began.”

“I couldn’t have been more thrilled to witness firsthand the impact Kohl’s is making on teachers and students across the country,” said Ann Ness, executive director of AdoptAClassroom.org. “All of us at AdoptAClassroom.org are so grateful to Kohl’s for their partnership and their commitment to education.”
