In teaching math and robotics, I like to do hands on projects with my students. Additional funding would allow me to purchase more materials and tools for our VEX robots, batteries and extra pieces for our Lego robots, office supplies for origami and bridge building activities and material and sewing supplies for the quilting projects. Many students make the math connection when they can “see” why they need to learn math. All of the projects address FCAT standards. Much of our student body is on free/reduced lunch and many of them cant afford the projects.
