Helping underprivileged students bridge the achievement gap

We have a number of underprivileged students who do not have the same background experience and/or knowledge that the majority of the other students have. It would be helpful to provide them extra assistance to bridge the gap so these students feel successful. This will also help build self esteem which in turn would motivate the students to work harder.
