	I teach Physical Science (the beginning portions of Chemistry and Physics). I find that students have learned something when they can SHOW me, rather than TELL me. Although they are required to read the text and we discuss what they have read, they don't always understand and make the necessary connections to move on to the next concept(s). But, when the student takes what they have read and what we have discussed, and then applies it, then they are able to see what is and is not plausible a bit easier. Chemistry and Physics are not easy subjects--even if it is only the basics for each class, but I try to make it as accessible (and sometimes fun) as possible for my students, so they will remember as much as they can by the time they get to their true Chemistry and Physics class.
