Welcome to AdoptAClassroom.org
Giving teachers the tools to educate our children starts with making it easy for members of the community to provide funding and support. Success happens one classroom, and one teacher, at a time.

Welcome to Mrs. Aaron's class! Over the past few years I have noticed increased difficulty maintaining my students' focus on traditional classroom texts, both fiction and non-fiction. Outside of school their lives are driven by technology, but in my classroom there is none! I would love a class set of Nooks to help me foster the love of reading in my students. With this resource, I can improve my students' word recognition as well. They will rarely get up to get a dictionary if they come to an unfamiliar word, but with the Nook, they can just press the word and the definition appears on the screen. This feature will allow students immediate connections between the definition and the context. Students will also be able to use these Nooks at home. They will have the ability to communicate with their peers and extend their learning outside of the classroom. I imagine that everyone in education today believes that they need more technology in the classroom. I am no different. I am a teacher in a small Christian private school. We simply do not have the resources available to provide our students this opportunity to learn. I would be happy to provide regular progress reports for any donors, and my kids could let you know how they have benefited from the resource you will help to provide. Thank you for your time!
