Welcome to AdoptAClassroom.org
Giving teachers the tools to educate our children starts with making it easy for members of the community to provide funding and support. Success happens one classroom, and one teacher, at a time.

My classroom needs technology for the students, such as electronic notebooks or kindles that the students could use for multiple uses. Currently, my 6th grade ELA team does not have laptops or PC computers. Due to their financial situations at home, many of my students do not even have computers at home. This creates problems on many levels. First, many of my students come into my classroom below grade level in reading and writing. Having them handwrite papers rather than type them on a computer becomes an additional chore. You can only imagine yourself having to “revise and edit” your own “handwritten” work on a regular basis and how much more time consuming and tiresome the process would become. Modernizing the process will simplify the writing process and help “catch” these students up to the where they should be. In addition, in sixth grade, access to the Internet for research skills is imperative. Learning to research, evaluate, and synthesize information they obtain via the Internet is essential. This is the heart of developing critical thinking skills in today’s world.
