Welcome to AdoptAClassroom.org
Giving teachers the tools to educate our children starts with making it easy for members of the community to provide funding and support. Success happens one classroom, and one teacher, at a time.

I have wonderful mix of children in my class this year. All but 6 are from a poverty level family, so getting help with supplies for our room is often a challenge. I love to have my children working in cooperative groups. I teach in a way that gets them out of their seats, keeps the engaged, and gets their hands messy. I believe that the more they do then the more they`ll remember, and my goal is to make them life long learners. Some supplies that my children can benefit from are crayons, glue, journals, construction paper, folders, scissors, pencils, poster board, paint, and markers. These are used almost daily in all areas of our learning. Reading in second grade is a huge foundation block for all children. This is the age where they fall in love with stories and read independently. I have a listening log in my room. Which my class LOVES!! Children can check out a book with it`s CD or tape. They then can listen to with it with a portable CD or tape player and a set of headphones. We are in great need of new books to read and share.
