I teach English language arts, speech and drama in a rural school. I believe my students would benefit from our class having access to a video camera and a document camera. With a digital video camera I could record students as they give presentations and work in groups. We would review the videos to provide feedback to improve student performance. I could record my classes and review the video to improve myself as a teacher. With a document camera, I could display my own sample work as I create it, so that students can better understand the processes involved in learning. I would be able to display written materials and pictures while reducing the number of copies I make.

Because the books I had would not be appropriate for my second graders, I left my beautiful, diverse library with the middle school. Now, I am trying to build my second grade library. I want a library that has great diversity in reading level and interest levels. I need picture books, poetry books, lots of nonfiction books, and chapter books for my upper readers. All children can be drawn to the joy of reading if they are given two
