As a new teacher there are many things that I still need. I would love a stand to hold posters. I really need one that would allow me to teach writing so that I could model in front of the students. Because I am a fairly new teacher I do not have a lot of money to spend in the classroom. I love to teach art and am in need of art supplies. We could use glue sticks, paint, glitter glue, and colored paper. I could also use ink for the computer.

I have been blessed with a classroom full of eclectic individuals coming from very diverse backgrounds. Our school is in a low income community and has a high percentage of English Language Learners. Many of the students families do not have the money to afford transportation, and sometimes even food. Very few of our families have access to school supplies or even basic needs for their students at home. A donation to our classroom could help to provide the students with access to have the necessary supplies such as pencils, journals, crayons, notebooks, and folders at home and at school. I emphatically encourage my students to be safe, respectful, and responsible with their belongings and their school supplies. The students have proven that they can be all of these things. I would like to be able to offer rewards such as prizes and positive reinforcement to continue encouraging good behavior. A donation to our classroom would show the students that their hard work is recognized and appreciated. I feel it is important to provide for and reward these students because they do not see a lot of the rewards and positive reinforcement at home. I look forward to continually readying and preparing career ready graduates. I want to ensure that our personal and financial issues are not what hinders their success. Thank you for your consideration.
