I have 18 children that come from very diverse backgrounds , for race , creed , and special needs. I feel these children face enough challenges that proper education should not have to be one of them because of a lack of supplies and support. The schools are under constant scutiny and the funds curtailed so Any help would be appreciated

Our classroom is a special place. We are a combined class made up of first and second grade students with cognitive disabilities as well as regular developing first graders. Our unique classroom community allows students to learn at different rates in a cooperative learning environment. This requires a great deal of differentiation in instructional style, resources and support. To meet the needs of our many learners we provide motor, intellectual and sensory tools to facilitate learning. Many of our students come from challenging home environments and cannot provide basic classroom supplies. Outside support is vital to the success of our program and every donation makes a difference in the life of our students. We thank you for your support.

I teach students with cross-categorical special education needs in grade levels 6-8. My students have a wide variety of needs and abilities. This year I would like to focus on creating strategic, lifelong readers. We really need class-sets (10-12 copies)of the following titles: "Holes", "Homeless Bird", "Speak", "Esperanza Rising", "Copper Sun", "Home of the Brave", and "Loser". I spent the summer developing units of study for a variety of books and am eager to implement them. However, we do not have class sets of these titles. We do not have funding to purchase these class sets.
