Were hoping that 13 is a lucky number! Here in S-13, weve got a great family of 26 students, some of who just started school for the first time. This is my first year in Kindergarten so were all learning the new Kindergarten curriculum together this year. My students come from a variety of homes, all of which fall in the impoverished classification. I also have 5 different native languages in my room. Im trying my best to help all of them but I consistently run into obstacles as far as supplies and materials. Quite often I am running out to the store and spending my own money to supply the kids with things that others take for granted including folders, pencils and paper. The list of things that my students need grows each week as we explore the curriculum. Any donation would make a wonderful difference in my room including things like simple supplies. I teach a wonderful group of energetic second graders in a large urban school. My students love to read, and often choose to read during recess. It is important to provide my students with opportunities to read at school because many of my students do not have access to my books at home. I would love to provide books for my classroom library about themes we are learning about in class. I would also like to provide books for my students to borrow and read at home, so that they can practice reading.

My students are inner city kids from low income households. They have limited resources at home and in their classroom. They are eager to learn and work with new technology. With the right resources and technology, the world of Math can be very exciting. I want to be able to reach ALL of my students, low and high.
