I have taught in this rural community for seventeen years. Some students have never traveled outside of the small town of Randolph. Many times when we go on field trips parents will not allow the students to go because of finances, the insecurity of traveling to larger towns and areas. Therefore, I found some of the best ways of bringing experiences to ALL students is to provide virtual field trips for children. I would like to purchase IPADs for my students for several reasons. One of the main reason is to entice students to explore the world around them. Second reason, use of computers and IPAD encourages relutant readers and writers to explore through this avenue. Third reason, through the use of computers, IPADs students are more interesting in exploring in reading, research, and learning about a topic.
