I work with some pretty amazing first graders. However, we do tend to go through resources and accessories rather quickly. My greatest needs are things like headphones, pencil sharpeners, seat sacks, reading bags...basically things that get lost or broken throughout the year. There are so many items that only survive a month or so, or at the most a year. Thanks so much for taking the time to check out this site! I greatly appreciate it.

I teach young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Each of my students are very special and unique individuals that learn and explore our world through their senses. In order to provide them a enriched classroom to meet thier needs, I must purchase expensive equipment, devices, and materials. If I am adopted, I will be able to purchase the things I need to provide meaningful instructional activities and increase student success.

I teach a special group of students that have Intellectual Disabilities and work daily on social and functional living skills. These students create a small group of students that are not responsible for learning grade level standards but rather an alternative set of standards. I am given the standards but I must align my materials with the standards and I often do not have the resources that I need to make the standards shine as I am teaching them to the students. My students also love art and I would love to incorporate more art activities into my lessons. Many of the students that I work with have sensory needs and require different activities to stimulate or relax them during the day. I work to give them the tools that they need to become contributing members of society. Donations to my classroom would be used to purchase materials and create meaningful learning experiences for my students.
I am working to create a community education curriculum for my students that would include not only life skills instruction in the classroom but also components that will take them out into the world and allow them to interact within the community.

I teach in a rural school. Over 50% of the students receive reduced or free lunches. I have recently been moved from 2nd grade to 4th grade and I will need multiple resources and supplies. These supplies are necessities such as: paper, ink, and pencils. With the poor economy, most parents cannot afford to give a classroom donation and/or buy the need supplies.
