I work in a small rural school in north central Arkansas. Over 85% of our students qualify for free and reduced meals. For the majority of our students the library is their main source for reading materials. According to a collection analysis performed by Follett Titlewave on November 14, 2011, the average copyright date of books in the various sections of the library is listed below: NONFICTION - 1998 BIOGRAPHY - 1992 FICTION - 1990 EASY - 1992. Funds would be used to improve the book collection in the library media center.

I teach in a small rural school in south central Missouri. Many of our students are on free/reduced lunches. Often times just purchasing the basic school supplies for the school year is a hardship for many of the my students. My classroom money allowance for supplies averages out to be $2.77 per student, per school year. This does not allow me to purchase any extra or enrichment items that I would like for my students to have access to. If you choose to make a donation to my classroom and students the money would be used for the following items: notebooks, folders, crayons, markers, glue, pencils, math manipulatives, reading enrichment activities. I would love to be able to also purchase a writing and listening center for my classroom. I also believe parental involvment is important in a child's educational success. I would like to purchase a large variety of books to create weekly book bags that could be taken home and shared with parents. Your donation would help me provide basic and enrichment needs for my students. When a child has the tools needed their confidence builds and they begin to feel successful.
