I have a self-contained special education classroom of 13 students that are eager to learn in their own way. Many of my students are autistic and have difficulty focusing and learning using traditional teaching methods. Many of my students come to school without proper clothing, without having eaten, or without having enough sleep the night before. The school is a high poverty school with over 75% of the students receiving free and reduced lunches. Budget cuts have reduced the amount of funding available for teachers to acquire many items that these special students need. These students are more hands on learners and require concepts to be repeated more times than many other students require. Funds are not available to allow my students to access more hands on activities such as games, computers, reading chairs, sensory aids, snacks, or proper clothing and shoes. I have bought several things with my money but the needs of these students keep growing and I can't fund all their needs. These students are very special and need tools and materials to succeed in school. Please help provide students with that opportunity.

I am very fortunate to work with such creative and motivated students! I hope to purchase an iPad for use in the music classroom. I know my students would benefit greatly from this technology. There are so many wonderful apps and programs the students could use. I hope to teach them more about music composition and allow them to express their creativity through this technology. The iPad would also be very useful to me as a teacher. I service over 750 students between two schools. I do not have a classroom. I am on a cart which means I travel from room to room and space is very limited on my cart. Having an iPad would allow me to accomplish many things such as store all of my music in one central location, keep records, store multi-media such as video and photos. The iPad can also be connected to a projector to show powerpoints and slideshow presentations. It is a wonderful thing to be able to show students what instruments look and sound like from another country just by cl
