Hello! My students all have special needs. Some may not be able to write well. Some may not be able to read well or succeed in math. They can ALL achieve and grow, however. In order to access the new Common Core State Standards, we are in need of assistive technology! We are very blessed here at Weiner Elementary to have access to computers and other wonderful and useful technology. What my students need is a word (writing) program that will help them write using word prediction. This software is specifically designed for students with learning disabilities (more specifically, Dyslexia). Learning disabilities range from having memory difficulties to problems with spelling and learning sounds to not being able to read grade level text. Writing is particularly difficult for these students due to processing issues where their brain does not process information well enough to write it on paper. Word prediction software is amazing for these kiddos in that it will give them the help they need when writing to spell and help with word retrieval. I know that this software will ensure confidence and success in writing with technology! Confidence is always a big problem and I am always on the look out for ways to build confidence.
