Two library skills classes of grades 5 and 6 follow a nine week rotation. The Arkansas Library Media Information Technology Standards are taught during these nine weeks. Students learn to locate recreational and content reading resources. They also learn to access information through online databases and apply the information learned by creating multi-media projects which they share with their classmates and families at home.
Our greatest need is for basic supplies such as 3 gross of pencils, 12 packs of markers, various colors of poster board, 4 packs of various colored 8 x 11 card stock, 12 sets of highlighters, and a box of file folders. We also need two digital cameras to create videos of interviews, etc. to upload to our projects.
Thank you to Office Depot and interested sponsors who wish to come to our rescue.

I teach 21 first graders that have lots of different interests, strengths, and weaknesses. I welcome any donation of time, supplies, materials, or books. Thanks so much!!! I have both boys and girls in my classroom. We would love funding for science and social studies activities! Also, we love having guest speakers for different lessons!
