Fremont Academy of Engineering and Design, has blossomed from a 7th and 8th grade only school to a full middle and high school with a focus on developing engineering skills in all of our students. Our school focuses on bridging the achievement gap. We a composed of low socioeconomic students in the minority and have a hard time purchasing, and maintaining basic school supplies. To support our science lab materials and technology needs the school can not provide these items to students and limits the amount of printer ink and paper available to teachers. As a teacher of English Learner's and students with low reading levels it requires a lot of guided materials meaning a lot of photocopying and printing vocabulary to post in the classroom. Replacing damaged or out dated science equipment and purchasing new lab materials would be a great way to make my students connect to the material in such a way that they find meaningful and educational.
