I have recently become the teacher to a special program called U-Turn. In this program, I work with highly at-risk students with behavioral, social, and academic issues to help them be more successful in a school setting and throughout their lives. My students require specialized positive support to be successful in the middle school environment. This support could include providing required school supplies, nutritional support, and reinforcement (both tangible and intangible) for positive changes they make. I am working hard to create an environment in my classroom where students can be safe and comfortable, and receive the help they need to turn their lives around. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts and limited resources, I have not been able to achieve some of my dreams for this class. I am asking for outside donations to help my class achieve its potential, and to improve my ability to support these students in all the ways they require. Thank you, Lesley Becker

Math and Science both require lots of materials to make students learning more successful and enjoyable. We're working on a big project that combines both subjects right now where the kids will be needing various supplies to build their to-scale site plans and earthquake safe buildings. Anything you can offer will help. Thanks

Many day to day items are needed, such as scissors, rulers, colored pencils, etc. Many of the students are from low socio-economic status and cannot bring these items to class.
Also, in order to increase the use of project-based learning, other materials are needed, such as laptops for internet research, funds for books that are supplementary to the curriculum.

Greetings. Many students I teach in 6th Grade Math, Science, and Drama are from working-poor families. Any monetary donations would go towards buying basic office supplies and materials for my students to use on a day to day basis. Further, I would like to buy custom pens for rewards to give to students, such as "Students of the Week." I would also need to periodically update present supplies of rulers, protractors, graph paper, etc.
Another use of donations would be to buy math orientated games, to help bring back some fun into learning.
Many thanks to those who donate to help my wonderful students of our community.
Sincerely,
Mr. Cheranich

I teach 6th grade math/science and 7th grade environmental art. In order to provide a rich meaningful experience in an art class, art supplies are vital. Our school garden is large and wonderful, but there is a continuous need for supplies, tools and equipment, plants and seeds, as well as curriculum. Sixth grade math, and science in particular, require supplies and tools allowing for students to perform experiments and to produce meaningful projects that demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the standards being addressed.

The school district is moving towards project based learning. In order for students to create some really amazing projects we need some simple supplies to get students creating and sharing their knowledge about our United States History. Your donation will help supply us with markers, colored pencils, construction paper, etc.... Your donation will go a long way in helping students create lasting educational experiences.

The majority of my students are struggling readers and writers. We are working on becoming better readers by reading a wide variety of texts including fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, and magazines. By donating to my class I would be able to purchase more books to help promote literacy with my students. Also, many of my students are unable to purchase basic school supplies. I try to provide any materials necessary to students to be successful, but this can get costly. A donation would help allow me to give students the materials to achieve success in all of their classes not just mine. Finally, since I teach middle school I do try to reward my students for their success. I provide rewards for reaching reading goals and grades. A donation would help to purchase rewards for students and recognize their effort.

My needs are basic classroom supplies. I print weekly progress reports for my students, which uses a lot of paper and ink. Therefore, I can always use reams of paper (color is even better). My current printer uses HP 45 black ink. Thank you very much for considering to donate to my classroom.

Our PE budget for over 800 students is $400. I could purchase 15 basketballs for that amount and that would be it. So any amount of a donation would help for me to purchase equipment to run a successful program that encourages life-long fitness and proper nutrition. Thank you!

I am a resource specialist and teach students with specific learning disabilities as well as students who are performing below grade level. A lot of my students come from underprivledge homes and are lucky if they come to school with any materials at all. My goal is to be able to supply my students with the materials they need to be an active participant in school. I also want to have the upgraded technology that is being used in 21st century schools. I teach math intervention classes to students performing below and far below basic. I want to have the technology to engage my students and make the intervention math and core math classes more interactive through the use of a smart/promethean board and student responders to check for understanding.

I am presently teaching two RD 180 classes to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and I also teach one French Exploratory class to 7th grade students. Because the RD 180 program often requires student-created book jackets and reports, I am in constant need of colored pencils, art paper, and markers. In my French class, I require various projects (dialogue; house design in French; person project in French) and these same art items would be extremely valuable.

I teach 8th grade Language Arts, AVID (a program targeted for students who will be the first in their family to go to college), and a support class for students who are struggling to achieve at a proficient level and funding for supplementing our lessons is gone. I would appreciate any financial support that will help me extend lessons for advanced students and that will help me support struggling students waning interest by giving alternate fun research/assignments. Im also missing basics: glue, paper, etc. Id be ecstatic to have the freedom to access standards in a more creative way with the luxury of funds!!!
Finally, in this technology-filled world, itd be mightily appreciated if we could have access to different technology within the classroom. We need Ipads, computers, etc.
Thank you for choosing educators and education with your donation.

this year I teach 8th gr Physical Science and a computer skills exploratory class. Many students lack materials at home to complete project based assigments. Most projects are started in class but need to be finished for homework. Many students would rather fail than ask for materials. Having extra supplies on hand reduces the excuses for not completing a project.
Frequently used items: -styrofoam balls, beads and wire to make atom models
-card stock to print templates for models
-duct tape, modeling clay and 2 liter soda bottles for bottle rockets
-binder paper, 3 ring binders, printer paper, printer cartridges ( HP 57 color HP 56 or 58
black)
- construction paper, 18 x 12 in
- stop watches
-household chemicals like baking soda, salt, sugar, vinegar, ammonia,
- packets of dry yeast
- potting soil
- colored celophane
- flash drives to save student powerpoints created in computer lab but presented in
classroon

My staff and I work in a self-contained classroom for students with emotional and behavioral issues. Our students require a highly structured learning environment in order to positively flourish. We have established an optimistic learning environment where academics technology and culinary arts are intertwined. Through technology and cooking, we have been able to “hook” our students academically, socially, and emotionally. With these positive experiences, students are called to make constructive choices through leadership and responsibility. As a class, we encourage our students to achieve their dreams by engaging in academic, practical, life-skill, and culinary projects which require the students to challenge themselves to reach new levels both as students and as productive members of our community.
We are seeking ways to maximize our educational environment by starting up our own popcorn selling business to be operated twice a month during our lunchtime. The students would manage all aspects of the the preparation, production, sales, and checks and balances of this entrepreneurial opportunity. This activity blends leadership and responsibility with our academic and culinary foundation found in our classroom.

In my 7th grade science class, we do a lot of projects. I believe that hands on learning reaches more students. We always need consumable supplies to complete these projects, such as glue sticks, colored copy paper, colored pencils, markers, etc. I have many English Language Learners in my classroom and hands on projects really allows them to maximize their learning.

Many of my students are at poverty level. They are unable to purchase materials needed for class. I like to have the kids publish their writing projects in an artistic way. Art paper, colored pencils and pens assist in this. Enriching creativity is important to me for my kids. I teach both English and Social Studies. I am able to do a wide variety of projects. Right now we are making mummies (carrots in salt) which we will place in a tomb after wrapping in paper mache. Art helps poetry come alive. 6th graders moan a little at poetry, but pair it with art and they get excited. There are so many ways to make learning creative and it would be great to have the supplies to support the creativity.

1) We are currently working to create Project Based Curriculum with presentation skills in the classroom. This would create greater need for poster boards, colored pencils, glue sticks and colored pens for those low socio-economic students. Many of the students will want to use my classroom color printer for visuals for presentation. Because I am also the Leadership/ASB Advisor, my printer is "super-sized" and requires large cartridges that cost over $100 for each color. WOW! We are grateful for any assistance with these items.
2) I am in serious need of black - white board pens. I received a big donation last year for a hundred pens but it's dwindled down to only 13 pens with continuous usage. I must rely on the students to provide their own and this system is not working well in group assessments. We truly appreciate any help on this issue.
