My classroom is full of underprivileged youths. My dream would be for each child to have every opportunity to learn in a classroom full of engaging materials where they can escape the troubles of their home lives and succeed academically. As of right now, we don't have a budget for necessary basic school supplies, such as pencils, paper, crayons and glue. As I often have to pay for these items out of my own pocket, there are never any funds left for literacy and numeracy manipulatives that would help to enrich learning. Having these basic needs met would help my students create a proper academic foundation. It starts at the beginning.
