The funding will help purchase disposable products, such as craft supplies to create projects that will be entered in the youth fair and student portfolios. The funding will go to great use to provide materials for projects that make the class more exciting! There are a lot of creative projects assigned in this class, more funds would equal more supplies, paper and printing supplies.

Offering funding to this English class will enable students to transform and share what they are learning more effectively. Supplies such as poster-size sticky notes and colored paper will help to engage and motivate students as they encounter challenging reading, writing, and discussion assignments. Additionally, purchasing toner for our classroom printer will enable students to print materials when necessary.

The students I teach learn about classical guitar, sound engineering and jazz rock ensemble where they perform, record, compose and learn about the history of these subjects. The classical guitar program is comprehensive & prepares students for performance either for their own satisfaction or public performance. Many of our students go on to study their instrument at universities or go directly into the professional music industry. The students compete at National festivals and perform for events both in the city of Miami and Miami Beach. Students at this level have earned numerous awards and commendations. The sound engineering students learn about the history of recorded sound, sound reinforcement and equipment maintenance. Advanced Students learn music composition utilizing Digital performer and Record/Reason Software. The Rock ensemble is a complete performance ensemble using vocals, drums, bass, guitars (acoustic and electric), keyboards and sometimes wind instruments. The ensem

I am looking for any donations to order lab supplies and equipment for my classroom. Students are excited about learning when they have the opportunity to do hands on activities. Unfortunatly most of these supplies cannot be recycled and need to be reordered year after year. My students also need craft supplies for interactive notebook activities such as construction paper glue sticks poster boards markers and colored pencils and paint supplies. My classroom also has 4 aquariums (2 marine and 1 viquarium and 1 freshwater) which require stocking of fish and animals for observation and even some experimentation. I could always use any supplies to maintain the tanks in good condition. Also if anyone is interested in donating actual supplies I am always in need of any of the following: Latex Gloves Rulers Scissors Construction paper Clear nail polish (to set slides) gel ink pens (for chromatography) markers colored pencils sharpie markers toothbrushes paintbrushes aa batteries Modeling clay Plaster of Paris Dental mold toothpicks ziplock bags qtips Glue sticks Spiral bound notebooks

I teach Pre-IB Inquiry Skills to 9th Grade students. I also teach Language Arts to 10th Grade students. Some of my students belong to AOHT (Academy of Hospitality and Tourism). We need workbooks that students can take home as well as markers, pens, pencils, paper, paper back novels, and all essential materials. Composition books are important for writing and keeping journals. Some of my students do not have access to a computer in their homes due to financial issues. Any help that we can provide these students with will certainly help with their financial situations and further their education in the present and in the future.

Dear Parents, Members of our Community and Potential Donors, Students are learning Cisco Networking II and III, and Introduction to Information Technology this year in my classroom, room 504. Budget cuts have forced more students than ever into classrooms - I have 205 students in 6 classes, which requires more equipment and supplies. All my classes except one has more students in it than computers and the lab has 29 operational computers for student use, when they all are working. We received five used computers last year to help put more students on computers, which was a big help. We could use more computers (laptops) for now, and I have a request in to our school. Also, The Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) students have proposed to build, train and maintain computer centers for needy senior centers to increase communication and help close the digital divide. Class sets of books or online books would also facilitate learning, as well as additional software for our Mac and PC computers. We have also introduced VEX robotics with the "Beach Bots" Robotics Club this year, and could use additional tools, motors and items to build robots at a competitive level and increasing STEM learning. Any contribution from you will be greatly appreciated, and will go to meet the needs of students and our community. We also accept old computers, printers and hardware from parents and the community, which students use in the lab to evaluate and trouble shoot. Thank you for taking the time to consider our classroom needs. Sincerely, Robert Ellis, Education Specialist Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) Miami Beach High School

My classroom philosophy centers around the idea of learning by doing/hands-on-learning. The money donated through Adpot-A-Classroom will provide the supplies needed to achieve a deeper understanding of concepts presented in the classroom. Addtionally, students will be able to focus on concepts using tangable items such as geo boards, personal dry erase boards, graphing calculators ect. If you have any questions please email me at mfitzpatrick@dadeschools.net.

I teach Special Ed students. The students could really use journals, paper and other supplies that due to budget cuts are not available to them and due to their home situation they are not able to get on their own. This year I have a mixed shedule teaching 7 classes, in 5 classrooms. I follow the students where they need my support. I have 4 Inclusion classes, one is American History, one is World History and 2 are Government/Economics. I also teach 2 self-contained Special Ed. World History and American History classes; and one Honors Social Studies class (that also includes some students with mild disabilities and gifted students). It is difficult to obtain paper for copies for their IEPs/EPs(Individual Educational Programs), which is a legal document that generates the support services that they need to be successful. They also lack basic classroom supplies to create projects and hands on materials that research shows are necessary for classroom success. Thank you in advance for your help in molding the minds of students.

My classroom is in the new building at Miami Beach senior High. Technology in the classroom is always an issue and it would be beneficial to have flash drives so students can save their work or a student printer. Printer paper and toner cartridges are a necessity. Also, shelves for books as I have an extensice classroom library.

The 2012-2013 school year has been challenging and exciting. I have been teaching all theatre classes at Miami Beach Senior High School. These incluce Theatre 1,2,3,and 4; Stagecraft 1 and 2. The Drama program, which has a long history of excellence, is being revitalized after a number of years of inactivity. This year the drama students competed in individual theatre events and the Florida State Thespian One Act Play Festival. We received a Superior Award at the District and State level with "Strider A Play With Music", a Samuel French,Inc. selection. The cast and crew included 5 musicians and 32 actors and technicians. We produced, in collaboration with the music department, "Rodgers and Hart A Celebration" a musical revue in the Miami Beach High School auditorium in March. The traditional SHARE program was produced in December and we are performing, "Brighton Beach Memoirs" by Neil Simon on the main stage in April. We are also working on a number of events in the community throughout the year which include the International Thespian Society food drive for Stop Hunger, Inc. and the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. The third annual Shakespeare Festival will be the fourth week in April and both the English and Drama students will be involved. There is no funding from the District or Miami Beach High School for any of these programs and we must raise the monies for all expenses. The school system has had so many major budget cuts because of the reduction of funding from the State of Florida and there are few supplies for the classroom. Each teacher receives one ink cartridge per year from the school. We are in particular need of money to purchase materials to make costumes, properties, and money to buy scripts and pay for royalties and rentals of choral books and orchestrations. Poster board, paper, printer ink, film for recording productions, and other publicity supplies are also needed. We do a number of projects in the theatre classes and need monies for poster boards for set and costume designs and publicity displays. The class sizes are very large in the theatre classes and tools and additional sewing machines (new or used) would be welcomed. All students in Stagecraft learn to sew and we need sewing notions and scissors. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will be used to meet the needs of the students. The students wll also greatly appreciate your attendance at our productions. Thank you. Pauline Lakanen Drama Teacher and Director

We need construction paper, color pencils, poster boards, color markers, cultural and Humanities films in Spanish. In addition, we need bilingual Spa/Eng and Spa/Spa dictionaries, Spanish reading books and grammar books. At this time I badly need paper organizers to keep handouts and daily classwork/homework generated by students organized. In addition, hand sanitizers and Clorox wipes are indispensable. THANK YOU!

It is pertinent that my students receive new materials for their artwork. Some of these materials include: canvas boards (for paintings), acrylic paints (to produce paintings for contests, specifically the Haitian Art Contest), metallic paints, small paint brushes, colored pencils, watercolors, watercolor paper, erasers, as well as many other things. This year we have begun the 3-D art (sculpture 1). We have no clay, we have no glazes, but we do have tools. We have five new electric potters wheels, and two new kilns. We also need other materials such as plaster, tools for working with wire, armature. We need sheets of plastic for the floor and we need materials for creating sculptures. We presently asked the students in sculpture to pay a 10 dollar fee but this material has already been used up for projects for the first two months. Please go to our school website (miamibeachhigh@dadeschools.net) and click on Mr. Frank OHare to see the supplies that are needed for our class. We need support more than ever because our principal just informed us that we have no money. All of our money is derived from our student fees which are four dollars for 2-D classes and 10 dollars for advanced classes. Any help we can receive in order to purchase these materials would be greatly appreciated. On behalf of all my students and myself, we thank you in advance.

I mostly need TI 84 calculators for my IB classes and batteries for my existing calculators. I could also use TI 89s fto replace the ti 89s that are broken. Also with the increase in the class size in AP classes such as the Calculus BC class there is a need for more calculators. I could also use extra funds to buy review books for the AP Calculus test, such as the Barrons or the Princeton Review.

I would like large flip charts, a variety of colored printer paper (all shapes and sizes), markers, colored pencils, colored tapes, a variety of post it notes, etc. I also like to have my students prepare and present powerpoint presentations but many of them lack jumpdrives or writable disks for this purpose.
