The funding will help purchase disposable products, such as craft supplies to create projects that will be entered in the youth fair and student portfolios. The funding will go to great use to provide materials for projects that make the class more exciting! There are a lot of creative projects assigned in this class, more funds would equal more supplies, paper and printing supplies.

It is pertinent that my students receive new materials for their artwork. Some of these materials include: canvas boards (for paintings), acrylic paints (to produce paintings for contests, specifically the Haitian Art Contest), metallic paints, small paint brushes, colored pencils, watercolors, watercolor paper, erasers, as well as many other things. This year we have begun the 3-D art (sculpture 1). We have no clay, we have no glazes, but we do have tools. We have five new electric potters wheels, and two new kilns. We also need other materials such as plaster, tools for working with wire, armature. We need sheets of plastic for the floor and we need materials for creating sculptures. We presently asked the students in sculpture to pay a 10 dollar fee but this material has already been used up for projects for the first two months. Please go to our school website (miamibeachhigh@dadeschools.net) and click on Mr. Frank OHare to see the supplies that are needed for our class. We need support more than ever because our principal just informed us that we have no money. All of our money is derived from our student fees which are four dollars for 2-D classes and 10 dollars for advanced classes. Any help we can receive in order to purchase these materials would be greatly appreciated. On behalf of all my students and myself, we thank you in advance.

I am looking for any donations to order lab supplies and equipment for my classroom. Students are excited about learning when they have the opportunity to do hands on activities. Unfortunatly most of these supplies cannot be recycled and need to be reordered year after year. My students also need craft supplies for interactive notebook activities such as construction paper glue sticks poster boards markers and colored pencils and paint supplies. My classroom also has 4 aquariums (2 marine and 1 viquarium and 1 freshwater) which require stocking of fish and animals for observation and even some experimentation. I could always use any supplies to maintain the tanks in good condition. Also if anyone is interested in donating actual supplies I am always in need of any of the following: Latex Gloves Rulers Scissors gel ink pens (for chromatography) markers colored pencils sharpie markers aa batteries Crayons Paper towels Soap Aquarium supplies Glue sticks

The 2012-2013 school year was challenging and exciting and I am looking forward to another great year! I am teaching all theatre classes at Miami Beach Senior High School. These include Theatre 1, 2, 3, and 4, and Technical Theatre and Design 1 and 2. For the 2013-2014 school years, Technical Theatre and Design 3 has been added. The Drama program, which has a long history of excellence, has been revitalized after a number of years of inactivity. This year the drama students competed in individual theatre events and the Florida State Thespian One Act Play Festival. We received a Superior Award at the District and State level with "Strider a Play with Music". The cast and crew included 5 musicians and 32 actors and technicians. Students also competed in Individual Events at both the District and the State Finals. We produced, in collaboration with the music department, "Rodgers and Hart: A Celebration", a musical revue in the Miami Beach High School auditorium in March. The traditional SHARE program, organized and produced by the advanced theatre class, was in December and we performed, "Brighton Beach Memoirs" by Neil Simon on the main stage in April. We work on a number of events in the community throughout the year which include the International Thespian Society food drive for Stop Hunger, Inc. and the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. Students in the classes are involved in all of the listed events on a volunteer basis. The students in the classes may compete in the Florida State Thespian competitions in interpretation, vocal music, and theatre design. They may work on their presentations and designs in class. Some of the supplies we need are architecture rulers, reams of white and colored paper, acrylic inks in any color for costume and set design, and foam board. We need portfolios so that students can carry their designs to competition without damaging them. All students in the Technical Theatre classes learn how to sew by hand and on machine and we need cotton material and sewing notions. There is no funding from the District or Miami Beach High School for any of these programs and we must raise the monies for all expenses. The school system has had so many major budget cuts because of the reduction of funding from the State of Florida and there are few supplies for the classroom. Each teacher receives one ink cartridge per year from the school. The supply money provided to the teacher by the District is used to buy laser ink cartridges so that students can print their written projects in the classroom. Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will be used to meet the needs of the students. Pauline Lakanen Drama Teacher and Director

I am always searching for new an innovative ideas for my classroom. I like to use a lot of graphs, charts, and organizers. I would like large flip charts, a variety of colored printer paper (all shapes and sizes), markers, colored pencils, colored tapes, a variety of post it notes, etc. I also like to have my students prepare and present powerpoint presentations but many of them lack jumpdrives or writable disks for this purpose. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

As a teacher of IB History of the Americas, AP US History, Advanced placement Comparative and U.S. Government and Politics, I could use classroom subscriptions to The Economist, the Wall Street journal, the Congressional Record, and historical maps of the United States & Europe from 1400 to the present. In addition, given budget cutbacks from the district it is becoming increasingly difficult to secure things like printer paper, cartridges, dry erase pens and erasers, etc. Your gracious support keeps this classroom running!

I teach Special Ed students. The students could really use journals, paper and other supplies that due to budget cuts are not available to them and due to their home situation they are not able to get on their own. This year I have a mixed shedule teaching 7 classes, in 5 classrooms. I follow the students where they need my support. I have 4 Inclusion classes, one is American History, one is World History and 2 are Government/Economics. I also teach 2 self-contained Special Ed. World History and American History classes; and one Honors Social Studies class (that also includes some students with mild disabilities and gifted students). It is difficult to obtain paper for copies for their IEPs/EPs(Individual Educational Programs), which is a legal document that generates the support services that they need to be successful. They also lack basic classroom supplies to create projects and hands on materials that research shows are necessary for classroom success. Thank you in advance for your help in molding the minds of students.

My classroom is a tv/film production class. It is a very on-hands curriculum whereby we use equipment and create videos for the school news and film festivals. Students learn to be creative while understanding the logistics of production. As the digital world is moving forward and the funds are getting lower in education I`m seeing a lack of equipment updates in my program. As we all know wear and tear of equipment is a natural for production. We need extra funds for fixings of equipment and little things like "mice" or external drives. I appreciate allllll you can do. thank you, Chichi Pierce TV/Film Instructor Turner Technical High School Miami, Florida

We need construction paper, color pencils, poster boards, color markers, cultural and Humanities films in Spanish. In addition, we need bilingual Spa/Eng and Spa/Spa dictionaries, Spanish reading books and grammar books. At this time I badly need paper organizers to keep handouts and daily classwork/homework generated by students organized. In addition, hand sanitizers and Clorox wipes are indispensable. THANK YOU!

My classroom is in the new building at Miami Beach senior High. Technology in the classroom is always an issue and it would be beneficial to have flash drives so students can save their work or a student printer. Printer paper and toner cartridges are a necessity. Also, shelves for books as I have an extensice classroom library.

Due to unprecedented budget cuts, the classroom is experiencing a real loss in having adequate day to day resources, not to mention laboratory supplies that are consumed from year to year by each student group. For the first time, I am struggling to get the most basic supplies like paper and newprint for student work. With that basic shortage, I anticipate an even more stark situation when it comes to ordering lab kits. Through this program I am able to use donated funds to order these materials that I really need for MY STUDENTS, without asking the school or the district. Any and all donations no matter how small, add up to making a difference-- some students cant even afford personal supplies like the 180 page notebook that I require for class. These donations help even in that small case, but it is HUGE to that kid! Thank you to everyone who has donated in the past and please forward the information about this organization to anyone who you know would enjoy helping with a donation!

In an AP World History classroom it is essential to have a variety of primary source resources available for students to read and practice the analytical skills of a historian. Additionally, we are in need of a class set of textbooks. I would also like to purchase day to day materials (ex. chart paper) that are costly yet help to engage the learner.

Dear Parents, Members of our Community and Potential Donors, Students are learning Cisco Networking I, II and III, and Introduction to Information Technology this year in my classroom, room 504. Budget cuts have forced more students than ever into classrooms - I have over 200 students in 6 classes, which requires more equipment and supplies. All my classes except one has more students in it than computers and the lab has 29 operational computers for student use, when they all are working. We could use more computers (laptops) for now, and I have a request in to our school. Also, The Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) students have proposals for the new year. We can really use additional software for our Mac and PC computers. We also have begun to accumulate an inventory of VEX robotics parts for the "Beach Bots" Robotics Club this year, and could use additional tools, motors and items to build robots at a competitive level. Also this year we are starting another STEM related Club, "The NASCAR Challenge" with the generous sponsorship of the U.S. Army. We will be competing with other schools throughout the year and funding is always helpful. Any contribution from you will be greatly appreciated, and will go to meet the needs of the students in my classes. We also accept old computers, printers and hardware from parents and the community, which students use in the lab to evaluate and trouble shoot. Thank you for taking the time to consider our classroom needs. Sincerely, Robert Ellis, Education Specialist Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) Miami Beach High School

My classroom philosophy centers around the idea of learning by doing/hands-on-learning. The money donated through Adpot-A-Classroom will provide the supplies needed to achieve a deeper understanding of concepts presented in the classroom. Addtionally, students will be able to focus on concepts using tangable items such as geo boards, personal dry erase boards, graphing calculators ect. If you have any questions please email me at mfitzpatrick@dadeschools.net.

Offering funding to this English class will enable students to transform and share what they are learning more effectively. Supplies such as poster-size sticky notes and colored paper will help to engage and motivate students as they encounter challenging reading, writing, and discussion assignments. Additionally, purchasing toner for our classroom printer will enable students to print materials when necessary for research papers, IB, and AP assessments.
