I teach at a Title 1 school, which means the income of our students families are low. My classroom is geared toward an older group of students and it would be very beneficial for my students to have classroom manipulatives for their age. There are not any play centers in my room, they have all been taken out. The student are not able to explore real world objects in the classroom. The only reading centers they have are reading books and worksheets to complete. This is not an ideal learning setting for Kindergarten students. Kindergarten students need to be able to explore to develop more academically, emotionally, and socially!
