My school is Title 1, therefore, most of my students are on free and reduced lunch. Many of them do not have the proper materials that they need to be successful in a 5th grade classroom. So, I frequently use my own money to buy binders, paper, pencils, manipulatives, markers, erasers, and folders to help these students. As an upper elementary school teacher with the new common core stardards, I am desperate to have the books we need for Reading/Language Arts and the manipulatives we need to learn the tough math material. As of now, my students are working hard and pushing themselves to be better students, but they could do so much more with the right materials!

I am a first year teacher starting in the middle of the school year. Because of budget cuts, there are not any funds to help with materials for my new classroom. I would love to purchase books for my students, educational games and posters, classroom technology, and organizational materials. My students would greatly benefit from these resources. Thank you!

I just recently moved from state funded GA PreK where materials and resources were abundant to a 2nd grade general education classroom where materials are very limited. I have to provide all of the materials for my classroom. It is very hard to provide the students with the materials they need on a teachers salary. We live in a very rural community with many underprivileged kids. Their parents are not able to buy supplies or anything extra for the classroom. I would love to be able to do more for my students. I am very lucky to teach at the same elementary school I attended as a child. Now that I am a teacher I would like to provide my students with the same wonderful opportunities I had as a student at this elementary school many years ago. Thank you for considering my students and my classroom!

I have so many ideas on how to use some extra money. We are just starting to implement the new CCGPS in the state of Georgia. I could use money to help provide resources to supplement what I already have. There are many great ideas out there. Thanks ahead of time!

Our country school has many students who come from low income, poverty level homes. Many of these families struggle to provide basic supplies mustless extras such as tissues, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. I also want the opportunity to provide meaningful learning experiences for my children.I would love to be able to use new technology methods of reaching children in my classroom also. I want to be able to provide my class with anything possible to help reach them, meet their needs, and provide a positive learning experience for them.

I teach in a small rural school which has a population of students that are from lower social econimcal backgrounds. If I could be adopted, it would help me buy the necessary tools/materials to assist my students in getting the best education possible. During these economically challenging times, it is difficult for school districts to provide teachers with the funds necessary to supply the classroom. The parents at our school are not capable of filling this gap. So it is up to the teacher to try to supplement as much as possible. Thank you for considering to help teachers and more importantly students to get the best education they deserve. Thank you, Susan Proctor

I teach in a rural school in Bulloch County, Georgia. Many of our children live on dirt roads, with bare necessities. Especially in the current economy, several children have no supplies, even pencils. Often, we have to scrounge together coats for them. Any help for them would be greatly appreciated!

I just completed my 8th year of teaching Second Graders. I was recently chosen to loop up with my class, so in the 2012-13 school year, I will be teaching 3rd Grade. I am excited that I get to loop up with my class, as this has been one of the best teaching years I have had. We are a classroom of Groovy 3rd Graders who are from a low income rural setting. Being adopted would help me to be able to purchase a variety of needed supplies to go along with our newly adopted Common-Core standards. I will also be able to update my new 3rd Grade classroom. Adding these supplies would help me be able to better prepare my students for the real life world they face.

I teach at a Title I school in a high poverty area. Though our school tries to provide us with necessary materials, my wish list is constantly growing, and the amount of incentives and extras that I want to give them are too great for the school to fund. Donations would go towards providing curriculum-based learning materials and classroom supplies that would help my children get a more meaningful HANDS-ON chance to learn. I use themes to teach each week, and try to provide at least one really cool learning experience each week to go with each theme. I love to work with small groups, and need more manipulatives and games to help make that more successful. We are in need of more sets of books for leveled reading group so that I can teach with more differentiated instruction. There are many reading/language arts games and activities that I would love to purchase. In math we need more games and individual activities that can be done instead of relying on worksheets to help students succeed. A wish of mine would be to have a reading center with bean bag chairs and a nice carpet where students could go to relax and read for pleasure. I think a more comfortable place to do this would encourage more excitement in students for reading. I have several English as a Second Language students each year and an iPad would be so helpful in helping them bridge the gap between their native language and English. Any help that I get would go toward making my classroom a very interactive and awesome place to be. Thanks in advance for considering helping our classroom be all that it can be!
