I teach 3rd grade students from a small rural town. Test scores show that Math and Science are areas where we need improvement. Gaining more hands-on manipulatives, new technology, and general classroom supplies would help me to provide as many opportunities for my students to succeed. I am a teacher who gives my best to my students and tries as many techniques and strategies as possible to help them understand a concept. I also LOVE to incorporate technology because it really captures student interest and is fun! Our technology based world is so advanced, that we need to prepare our students for work in such an atmosphere. Donations to OfficeMax for our classroom would help me provide supplies and new technolgoy that I, in the past, have bought out of my own pocket. However, with our shrinking salaries due to furlough days and decreased budgets, I have had to cut back on so many out of pocket expenses. These donations would help me to provide as much or more than before and will help me keep education fun and exciting! Thanks in advance for all that you do to help my classroom and my students. They are the future!

I teach a classroom of about 20 students whose academic abilities range from above average to below average. Many of these students suffer economically which heavily impacts their opportunities for learning and the prior knowledge they bring to the classroom. All of them, however, are thirsty for knowledge and what to be academically successful. Please consider giving to this group of children. Your donation will help me purchase engaging materials and provide more hands-on instruction for these students. I believe that learning should be educational and fun!

“If a child cant learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.” -- Ignacio Estrada This is our classroom motto. In our room, I am determined to meet you where you are currently at as a learner, and with the help of classroom community, take you as far as you can go in 180 days. Our school is one of the larger schools in our rural, south Georgia county. Like most schools, we serve children from various backgrounds. Our students come from homes with no books at all and from homes will shelves of books. No matter what their start, they are all our children and our job is to try to somehow even out the field so that they all get a chance to shine. With funding dwindling, we are searching for ways to make up the difference. It is frustrating to try to teach concepts to concrete learned without manipulatives to put in their hands and to not have the resources to teach in the way a child needs to learn. Learning takes practice and the best way to foster a love of l

I teach in a rural school in Bulloch County, Georgia. Many of our children live on dirt roads, with bare necessities. Especially in the current economy, several children have no supplies, even pencils. Often, we have to scrounge together coats for them. Any help for them would be greatly appreciated!
