I have so many creative and talented children who look forward to their weekly art experience in my classroom. Some excell in the regular classroom, as well, while others find their art time is their special opportunity to "shine". Currently the state of Idaho is second to the lowest in student funding and my budget has shrunk as the number of students that I teach has increased. I am very creative with finding supplies and folks that have free materials to share. I am extremely careful with the limited funds that I have and spend them wisely and judiciously scouring the suppliers for percentages off and free shipping. But there certainly are not enough funds to offer these children the more comprehensive and engaging experiences that create memories and interests that could last a lifetime. Discovering special talents that might develop into a career or life persuit would be the "icing on the cake". What I would love to find is an artist, an art organization, a patron of the arts that would like to adopt these creative, exciting students that I see, not only for funding and supplies, but for the sharing of ideas, methods and the creative experience. I know the right person, group, or business is out there that would enjoy being involved in the creative development of these children, we just need to connect. Help me find our creative angel(s).
