Our school financial situation doesn't allow us to get anything above the necessities for our classroom. I have a smartboard and would love to get more technology for my classroom. Everyday we use the smartboard and my students absolutely love it. I find that technology has been a great benefit for learning in my classroom. We would greatly appreciate anything you can give to help.

I would love to have hands-on activities for my students. These would help better reenforce the lessons and help bring about complete understanding. We have talented and creative students, just like any other school, but our resources are limited. Funds for these activities would be greatly appreciated by our students and staff.

My students are 5th and 6th grade students. They are bright and inquistive. Since today's world revolves around math, science, and technology it is very important that these children have access to many different modes of learning. These programs or materials can be very costly. It would be greatly appreciated if any assistance can be offered.

The students in my classroom currently use manipulatives and the whiteboard for math practice. We also conduct various experiments in our classroom to reinforce science concepts. The students only receive 40 minutes of computer lab time per week which does not allow enough time to combine computer usage with daily math and science lessons. Our classroom would greatly benefit from receiving a smartboard so that we could have daily interaction between students and technology to reinforce lessons. Students learn in various ways and need more hands on technological equipment.

Our school financial situation does not warrant the purchase of a Smart Board in my classroom. This is something that would enhance my teaching and spark interest in my students. How fun it is for a student to be involved with technology! I can see the benefit of using a Smart Board to keep all students engaged and involved. it would be exciting for me also!

Mount Vernon High School
In todays world, students need to be able to use electronic such as IPad to graph chart, calculate equations, linear equations and quadratic equations. There are multiple free Apps for students to download and use for learning for the future. Research has proven that student achievement scores and grades increase when using iPads and/or other electronics. Mount Vernon Township High School serves over 1300 students. All students are required to take three years of math. Mount Vernon Township High School has multiple classes that have Co-Teachers that teach both regular and special education students combined. Having iPads in the classroom would allow students to increase scores as well as become better prepared for technology for their college/careers. By having an iPad for each student in the classroom, students would be able to use Apps for math skills. Students would be highly motivated, attentive and engaged when they have iPad programs available to them. The proposal request is twenty-eight iPads or funding to purchase them $5600. This would allow for students in all eight math classes to use them per class period, serving 224 total students daily.
