I teach Head Start children. These are 3,4 & 5 yr old. We used to go on field trips every month. Because of budget cuts in our government, we have been unable to expose the children to real life experience. A trip to the zoo or a local farm would be greatly appreciated. The Head Startm program was founded to help children in high-risk/low-income families. Field trips at school, for some of these children are the only way some of my class will get to see a farm or other things their parents do not have the means to expose them to.
