Our classroom budget and school budget was cut this year, so additional funding would help me to supply my class with school supplies, such as crayons, scissors, construction paper, highlighters, dry erase makers, erasers, pencils, folders, glue, paper, books, etc. I would also like to purchase resources that would help my students learn, such as math and reading games and materials, resource books, and classroom management resources. I teach in a school in a very high poverty area, so many of my students cannot afford school supplies. The majority of my class are ESOL students who struggle with phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension because of a language barrier. I would like to purchase reading activities to help them expand their vocabulary and become fluent readers. Additional funding would provide those students with tools they need to succeed in school.
