Learning is FUN!!! I have been blessed to work with wonderful children and families over the past 25 years. I love working with ALL children and have seen technology open doors for all of my students in a variety of ways over the years. I presently teach in a rural area in WV. My Kindergarten does have an inteli-board, but it is not always working and it is not geared for kindergarten. Following is an example of what happens weekly in my room. A 5 year old boy with limited vocabulary and very low social skills sits quietly watching our morning message/calendar time. During station time he chooses the inteli-board station and begins to click on the different icons with a pen that doesn't fit in his hand and loses the tip frequently. While he and a partner are trying to take turns and work through the activities he keeps standing in front of the projector and can't see what he is working on nor does he understand why the screen goes dark. This happens daily, not only to the student with special needs, but to all the kindergartners. HATCH Early Learning Systems has an interactive white board with mounted projector and teach smart software. This would be a dream come true for the kids and families in my kindergarten classroom.
