A donation will provide resources aimed at content literacy and at a shift in negative self and community esteem. Funds will be used to develop a framework on which a rich educational environment can be built for underprivileged students in an under-performing/under-financed district in danger of being closed.
Modern textbooks, higher expectations, and some basic stability can offer my students a simple and yet profound statement, "You are worth someone's time and attention...you have value!" I endeavor each day to make that same statement to each child and to connect them to a world that offers hope and opportunity for young people whose world seems small and isolated.
