Schools in Michigan are facing severe budget cuts. In our area of Michigan this is in addition to severe declining enrollment. Our music budget has been cut 40% over the past five years.
We have many instruments that are in need of updating and repair, especially in the percussion section.
Please consider helping us be able to finance repair and/or replacement of these instrument (many are over 20-30 years old).
We have an excellent band program in our school with about 40% of the student body in the band program, and this would enable us to continue to help students get a quality music education.

Wolverine Elementary School
Wolverine is a very small rural community. It has above a 55% free or reduced lunch population. We as a community want these children to succeed in live by being good community members and citizens, lifelong learners, and able to compete for jobs in a global economy. Our funding is very low and each classroom is only given $150.00 for supplies for an entire year. In order to be sure that children have all of the resources they need, teachers pay for many things out of their own pocket. This is becoming a hardship on their families with the increased cost of insurance and continual pay freezes or decreases in pay in order to keep the school operating in this wonderful community.
