I have a regular classroom setting with tables that I put together in groups of 4 so students can collaborate as a team and do inquiry labs. The materials that I use for the experiments mostly come out of my kitchen, and anywhere else I can scrounge things up. Many of my tudents are economically disadvantaged living in generational poverty and don`t have much exposure to technology at home. In order to create a 21st Century learning environment, we need technology that has web access to compete in a global learning community. To put technology in the hands if my students would help engage them in digital learning experiences. In our technology rich society the more experience my students can get the better prepared they will be prepared for the real world.
