Kerin Kiser

Kaitlyn Hodges is a first year teacher who has exemplified a true love for education. Her compassion and enthusiasm is displayed infectiously every day to all of her students. She has provided a love for learning that has exceeded any expectation. Ms. Hodges has participated in all school in-servies and training. Currently she is attending classes for Gifted and Talented Endorsement. She recently presented at an ASCD conference for beginning teachers in Columbia, SC. Through collaboration with faculty and staff, Ms. Hodges is proving to be a life-long learner. She continues to plan and organize with her grade level colleagues, offering suggestions as well as receiving advice. She contineus to serve a faculty representative for student council and her attitude is always pleasant and her professionalism, exempliary. By every standard, Ms. Hodges is an outstanding first year teacher employed here at Larne Elementary, a Title One Elementary School. During her first year she has continually demonstrated a commitment to her students and co-workers. Her sense of community is outstanding and her level of warmth and care is one to be modeled after. For all these reasons, we would like to nominate this very special teacher for A Day Made Better and thank you in advance, for your consideration.
