I teach students who have autism in a self contained classroom. My students are in grades 6-8 ages 10-13 half are girls and half are boys. Though my school is not a Title I school, we do not have the money to purchase needed teaching materials specifally tailored to the instructional needs of students with autism. A donation would help me by allowing me to purchase the Unique Learning System. Unique Learning system is a standards based curriculum for special education. It is the ONLY online, dynamic standards based curriculum specifically designed for special learners. Teachers can download monthly instructional thematic units of study. Each unit contains 30 lesson plans and downloadable materials that teachers can readily implement into classroom learning activities. All materials are created using symbol stix graphics. The unit lessons define three levels of differentiated tasks to accommodate the diversity of learners with significant disabilities.
