I teach 27 students that have a wide variety of academic and personal needs. We could use materials to help us make real world connections for all subject areas. Bringing in examples of things to tie to daily lessons helps the students visualize and learn the vocabulary. It would be wonderful if we could go on more field trips to provide the students with some of the real life experiences that tie into our Science, Math, Reading, and Writing standards. We also could use assistance in supporting their basic needs as well. I know that if we could help meet those needs that it would also help their academic needs. I believe things such as appropriate clothing for when the weather changes and snacks would change their ability to learn dramatically.
