I would love to have equipment and books for an after-school chess club. I need 10 vinyl chess mats, 10 chess set pieces and chess clocks. I am in need of chess instruction booklets as well. I am in need of leisure paperback books for children. The strategies used to play chess assist the students with concentration, problem solving and math skills. I have asked all those who participate in this after school activity read for at least 20 minutes a day. Currently, both boys and girls participate in the after school program, it is open to all students grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The program begins in September and is completed at the end of the school year. Currently we have no chess clockks and that has become our biggest need. Thank you so much for assisting me with this project. The students and faculty in my school have grown to love chess and its challenge.
