Approximately 70% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunches. Many of my students enter kindergarten with little or no alphabetic or number knowledge. They have limited literacy experiences and few picture books in their homes. The classroom donation would allow me to build hands on experiences in literacy and math with manipulatives and materials targeted to bridge the gap with their privileged peers.
