Dear Potential Classroom Donor,
A Chinese proverb states, “Tell me and Ill forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and Ill understand.” This year in kindergarten we are going to *Center on Learning*. Learning centers are one of the most beneficial activities kindergarten students experience while in the classroom. Examples of learning centers include activities about letters, sounds, sequencing, words, fractions, numbers, patterning, adding, subtracting, time, science (exploring, examining), social studies (jobs, symbols, places), and forming sentences, just to name a few! Centers help students get involved in their learning. Hands on centers allow for learning to be more than what the teacher says or does, but acutally lets students get involved in completing tasks to allow for learning to occur. A donation to our classroom would allow for us to purchase some much needed curriculum based learning centers. Centers will be used formally two times per week and informally daily. Students will get to enhance their learning experience in our classroom allowing for better retention of information and a much more memorable experience of kindergarten learning. Thank you for taking the time to consider making a donation to our classroom. We hope you will be able to help us center on learning!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sharek & Students

To Whom it May Concern, Hello, my name is Stacy Henry. First, I would like to provide you with personal information about myself pertaining to education. I grew up in New Castle, Pa and graduated from New Castle Sr. High in 1988. Growing up in New Castle, (born 1970) was very different compared to how my 3 boys; ages, 11, 8, and 6, are growing up now. Unfortunately, the days where most school districts had several neighborhood elementary schools are long gone. I remember being able to walk to school, several blocks away, returning home for lunch for 1 hour, then walking back to school for the afternoon. Due to the impact of major industries and businesses closing in New Castle, Pa the economy of the city has greatly deteriorated. The dynamics of the New Castle Area School District have changed drastically throught the years. We are now considered a low economic area which directly effects the education of our children. I currently live in the same neighborhood in which I grew
