My classroom is designed to teach struggling readers in grades 5-10. The room is designed to have three distinct sections. These include a place in which students can read independently, work on computer software, and hold group discussions. The Independent Reading section is simply a space on the floor with a few throw pillows. I believe that getting a child interested in reading is really half of the battle in creating an avid and successful reader. Five beanbag chairs would certainly make this area more comfortable and inviting, possibly creating a desire to read in this relaxed atmoshpere. I also feel that students are so engrossed in technology they sometimes have a difiuclt time functioning without it. E-readers provide a great way to read in the modern day. I would like to purchase e-readers for the reading classroom to provide another hook to the reluctant reader. No one wants to be told what they have to read. A reading classroom also needs plenty o
