Conneaut Valley Pre-k/Head Start serves the children of Conneautville, Springboro, and surrounding areas. The children come from low income families. We have recently faced funding cuts through the federal government and hope that there will be no more. The children enjoy hands on activities and exploring the world around them. I thank you in advance for helping our class purchase additional supplies.

Jennifer Jewett
1st Grade
Pymatuning Valley Primary Elementary School
I am a 1st grade teacher who has been teaching for 14 years at the elementary level and desires to bring more technology into my classroom. I currently have 21 students in a school district that has 70% of the students at or below poverty level. My students share three computers which are used during our guided reading/centers time in which they are logged onto a variety of educational websites. I would LOVE to see more students able to utilize technology daily on their level to reinforce reading and math skills needed to achieve state and national indicators. It would be a tremendous gift to have 6-10 LeapFrog LeapPad Explorers Learning Tablets with accommodating programs for the ages of 5-8. These durable materials would provide my students with technology they may not ever have the opportunity to use otherwise. LeapFrog activities correlate with related skills, in all content areas, needed to achieve passing scores on state mandated assessments. In a society of technological advances, all students, despite their socio-economic status deserve the same opportunities. I hope that you will join me in reaching this goal. Thank you.
