I am currently a proud & excited first grade teacher in Darby, PA. My students and the community do not have much, but they have a great deal of heart. I want to do everything I can to help them succeed in all aspects of their lives and you can too!

I work in the Philadelphia school district in one of our neediest schools. 98% of my special needs class live below the poverty line. Despite their hardships, I have never met more loving and enthusiastic learners than the kids in my class! The look of excitement in their eyes when they are engaged in a hands on lesson is both rewarding and inspiring! My students are learning low level pre-kindergarten readiness skills that include identifying colors, shapes, numbers, and letter sounds. They learn best when activities are hands on and involve daily living skills. They love using the computer and singing during circle time. A favorite activity of theirs is pocket chart time, during which, we play games to practice kindergarten readiness skills. A donation will help my students because our school district does not fund the extra hands-on materials needed to benefit our neediest of students. It is donors like you that can make all the difference in the lives of a child.
