I teach two classes of third grade English Language Arts. This school year we are implementing Common Core State Standards. A donation of trade books for small group instruction and read alouds will help me to help my students become successful with these standards. Using trade books that are of interest to the students will keep them engaged while reading, discussing, and writing about what they have read or have listened too. We are moving away from the traditional text book and having students read and listen to trade books and different types of genres. Also, trade books on different levels will help me to reach all the different reading levels that students are reading at. Thank you in advance for your support.
