I teach students of various grade levels and academic abilities. I use many types of manipulatives to help teach students who are missing the very basic foundations of learning. We also bake cookies once a month and sell them to the teachers(with play money). This helps the students with following directions, understanding measurements, and the concept of money. This donation will help buy supplies and materials to enhance their learning.

Our rural school and community consists predominately of students with a low socioeconomic status. I am a second- year teacher who teaches English Language Learners in a bilingual (Spanish) classroom. What my students would benefit from would be a larger classroom library , especially with books that come with audio cds or cassettes. My classroom library is small. In the two years I have been teaching, I have collected books from second hand stores, discount book stores, and hand-me-downs. The majority of the books I have, I purchased to use for instruction. Most of the time, I check out library books from my local library to use for instruction. I would love to have a variety of sets that consist of at least three books and an audio. Listening stations benefit all students but especially ELL students. The majority of my students have parents that only speak Spanish so the majority of the English they hear is in the classroom. Also, a large amount of them do not have books at home for them to read for fun. I feel by having a variety of books available to them in my classroom, especially audio books, this will help motivate them to read for enjoyment. If you adopt MY classroom, I guarantee that your contributions will be greatly appreciated!
