Sidney ISD is a Title I, K-12 school in Texas consisting of approximately 145 total students, the majority of who come from poverty-level homes. School supplies are in short supply in most classrooms, including mine. I currently teach 7th and 8th grade math, Algegra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Math Models.To begin with, most students need pens, pencils, paper, binders, etc…the basic school supplies that their parents are unable to provide for them due to their poor financial situations.I would love to update my classroom by adding technology, including the newest TI Inspire Calculators, and a few laptops for student use. I feel this is of utmost importance to all students whom I believe should have the same opportunities as students in more prominent areas.
